Pastor Ray, Mary, Cayna, and Chasia Rich

About Pastor RayI graduated high school in May of 1993. I started attending church and dedicated my life to Christ October 31st of that same year. Growing up in an abusive home, I never really felt as if I truly fit in anywhere. However, that small church I started attending made me feel right at home. I learned over the next 2 years so much about the love of Jesus. All I wanted to do was eat, sleep, and think JESUS. In 1995, I had a semi-nervous breakdown. All the things from my past seemed to catch up with me. Memories of sexual, mental, and physical abuse flooded my mind. I thought I was literally going to die. During this time I lost my job and felt as if no one really understood what I was going through. That is when I reached my lowest point. I felt as if I was all alone. Confused and weak I learned what true trust in Jesus is. He reminded me that in our weakness, He is strong. Jesus pulled my life together the way he wanted it. He began to teach me the difference in “Family” and “Relatives.” (We choose our family.) In the spring of 1996, I realized God had a calling on my life. After 3 years of attending church and jumping at every opportunity to preach, sing, or play piano, I accepted the position of Youth and Music Pastor in a church in I now hold the title of Student Pastor, including ages 6 years to 18 years. It amazes me almost daily that God could take a broken battered boy, and use Him like He has used me. Jesus is truly my Rock. When all fails in my life, he proves to be a firm foundation. I am now married to a wonderful woman, have 2 beautiful children, and serve in an outstanding church. I am proof that God not only can bring you out, but will if we let him. |
